G-SET joins forces with EGAT to advance wind-energy innovation at Lam Takhong through digital turbine monitoring, machine learning, and power-system optimization.
On 20–21 November 2025, the G-SET Research Unit visited the Lam Takhong Chonlaphawatthana Hydropower Plant for a technical meeting with EGAT to explore collaboration on wind-energy research at the Lam Takhong Wind Power Plant.
The G-SET team, represented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Umarin Sangpanich and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kullawadee Somboonviwat, presented key research directions, including:
- Real-time wind turbine monitoring platform
- Machine learning for predictive maintenance
- Grid-integration studies using DIgSILENT
- Data-driven load forecasting
By combining EGAT’s operational expertise with G-SET’s academic and data-driven innovation, the initiative aims to enhance wind-turbine performance, improve power-system reliability, and build long-term research capacity to support sustainable wind-energy development at Lam Takhong and future wind-power sites across Thailand.
